Review for Zuri TV Stand By Snowycat This is a very attractive piece furniture and certainly looks like it came from a top of the line store such as Ethan Allen.. The color is a rich, dark brown, almost black and it's very sturdy for being a DIY piece.. I did have a bit of trouble putting it together, the screw holes were off just enough on the backside that I couldn't get them to go in all the way, forcing me to leave about a 1/4 gap where the back part meets the sides.. I'm sure if a guy had been putting it together he would have been able to get them in tight, but being a older gal without the upper body strength of a fella I just couldn't apply the pressure needed.. However, you can't really notice this since the gap is tiny and on the backside so I am still very pleased with how the unit came out and hope to get the matching coffee table soon.. I did find the price of these units a bit high, considering you do have to do some work to put them together and it can require some effort but that would be my only complaint.. They have a classic look and are sturdy to hold a lamp and many stacked books. They were easy enough to assemble. They go well side along to a sofa with high sides, which was what I was looking for in end tables. The little drawer is fine for pens and other small items only. I think most of us my house forget they are even there. I have not used them for anything - presently no need. Regardless, the drawer does compliment the appearence of the end table. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Looks Good and Lasts, but Problems with Assembly By Jason Waldman We've had this piece up next to our front door for a while now, and I have to say that I'm impressed at how well it's held up. It's shown very few scratches and survived our puppy walking over the shelve at the bottom. The color of it also hasn't faded. It still looks very good and blends in well with all of our other furniture. My main complaint was the assembly process. Some of the screw holes did not line up, so I had to drill my own holes in order to complete assembly. The product came with the bottom based board missing and the sccrews. I then asked them to ship it next day since I was leaving out of town for a week and a half and they told me no. Then when I got home I sent them an email with the part they were going to replace and nothing again. Sent them another email and they sent back stating again to send the part and I am still waiting another week and half later. The lid is too large for the teeny hinges that are attached to like, particle board, which cracked after about two months of VERY light use. Sadly, it broke about two days after Amazon's warranty was up, so we couldn't return it. Also, it came with absolutely NO paperwork from the manufacturer so we can't go that route to return it, either. And I can only find one number for "Bobkona" in California and no one ever answers, nor can I leave a message. Frustrating and dissapointing, as I've never had a bad experience with Amazon before. :( We repaired the ottoman with larger hinges, hoping it will stop the "wood" from cracking. I was surprised how good the quality of the wood and finish was for the price. My only beef is that they aren't very sturdy due to the way the legs are designed. They look great with two Tiffany lamps on the side tables. I wouldn't put anything heavier on them though for fear of it tipping over. You can't push on the coffee table to help you get up from the couch either as it will start to tip also. There are spinner feet on the bottoms of all three and they do help to lessen the wobble that they have (I have them on a carpet floor), but they are still not perfectly solidly stable. I was bigger than the other ones being offered, and a deeper brown color. It was double packed so it arrived in perfect condition. It was simple to assemble. Voss This is a large piece of furniture which should have been carefully packaged before shipping. Unfortunately it was not. The legs are a complete puzzle which need to be resolved before one can attach them to the table top. The veneer (and it is definitely a thin veneer) is almost non-existent. So thin--and very easily scratched by the slightest touch like a fingernail when placing magazines atop? The only reason I gave this one star is for the color. This was and is beautiful. It's finish scratches extremely easy and it's very light in weight, tips over, just not worth the money. It's more like a $9.99 item at Walmart. I bought this because it was $50 expecting nice quality. Complete junk. Used for a week and put in basement, 2 for $100. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Just what I needed By SV I was looking for a small table to put my tea or whatever on while sitting in my reading chair. I also use it for my use anywhere mouse. This table fits the bill. The top is a tad under 15" long and just under 11" wide. The Magazine holder you see in the picture inside dimensions are 2 1/2" deep and 6" wide. It holds a steno notepad with some space to the sides as well as most paperback books. You cannot see in the picture but it has a support arms under the top on both the left and right about 1 1/2" in from the outer side edge. From the base of that to the bottom of the foot 21 3/4". It does not go over the arm of my chair because of these but I don't need it to. With the arms inset I can pull it in as far as I need it to for my mouse. We didn't realize about the arms but I can use it in a number of ways that work for me. The picture color is accurate for this piece. The stain is evenly applied and it looks nice. The surfaces are all smooth and I have not had a problem with scratching. It does get used a lot so if it was going to be damaged or tip over it would have. It's sturdy so I don't even worry about it tipping even loading it lopsidedly. It doesn't move around as easily as a Table Mate but its not supposed to. We can move it easily with some resistance which is what you want. I don't want to move around if I bump it while on the couch. The package it came in had a dent so I was concerned but the table was well protected. You do assemble it yourself. I found the instructions easy to follow and it was quick to assemble. I used a powered screwdriver of my husbands. We tried it in the living room after we removed the coffee table for more room. Our concern was that the base would be to thick to go under our couch with is almost on the floor but its only ~1/2" so not a problem. We love it and are ordering a second in the same color. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. VERY SMALL TABLE By D. Bradford Don't make the mistake I did, reading a review that said this table is big enough for a lap top and cup of coffee. It is NOT. This table can be used for a small book and cup, but not much else. (The picture should have clued me in.) My 2 year old granddaughter likes using it, but I wouldn't put anything on it that could spill, because it can easily topple over. While it's still functional for small needs, it did not meet my expectations. The company was nice to deal with, and the delivery was prompt. It comes in kit form and requires careful study of the instructions before assembly which took about an hour with some help from another person. The resulting cart is handsome and sturdy. The black, full-size microwave countertop oven that I purchased to go on top fits so well that most people think that the two, cart and the microwave, were purchased together and made for each other. The drawer works but is a little hard to pull out even after greasing the wood rails that it rides on. I won't use the drawer that much anyway. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. It is well made and everything fits together nicely. There is a 5th leg under the middle of the lower shelf that does look a little odd depending on the angle you look at the table, but it doesn't bother me. The drawer slides nicely and the table comes with a touch up pencil for tiny scratches that blends perfectly with the wood color. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Terrible craftsmanship By crd First of all, if I had not got this table with an Amazon gift certificate, I would have been very upset about spending so much money and not being able to return it as the return price is almost as much as the table (since it is heavy and shipping is costly). When it came in the mail, the table already had scratches and marks on it. My fiancee tried to assemble it only to realize the cam screws were stripped and he had to go to home depot to get new ones. He still was unable to get the legs to lock into place with the new screws. So, we had to resort to gorilla glue in the holes to get the legs to stay in place for the bottom shelf of the table. All the other pieces assembled ok. But, since it really is not assembled properly, I am afraid to put too much weight on it. It is ashame to spend money on a table you cannot fully use. Do not waste your money on this product!!! I saw another review that reported cam screws did not lock properly. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Unfortunately the pieces they included for fastening the legs to the rest of the table simply wouldn't go together on some of the legs. I ended up breaking some of the metal parts trying to get them to work. The table is together, but it is not the most stable thing in the world. I'll probably secure it further with some metal brackets and screws at some point, which will work fine, but this company should not be selling the table in this condition. Great furniture for a new apartment By William Masten I recently moved out and I had nothing, and being frugal was the key. I tried to find things that looked nice and werent too expensive. I found it with this set. The tables look great and are sturdy. I thought they might be plywood when I ordered them, but they are not... I know because they were heavy as f*. The only problem I have is that I wish they had a little more to them. Opening that box with the 'new table' in it, we noticed the corner was damaged the same (as you can see from the photos). The wood just flakes off when you touch it. Super cheap. On a side note, the customer service representatives are VERY wonderful....however, they don't match a poorly crafted table. They overnighted the 2nd return and legs after my complaints. This table set is black. Some espressos are dark brown, but this is totally black. The end tables had no chipping issues, but you can tell they are also made of cheap wood. It is quite sturdy and the perfect size for my small apartment dining area. The vendor - Home and Living - is the most customer friendly company. Despite their excellent wrapping job, the tabletop arrived damaged. Home and Living immediately shipped a new one and arranged for FedEx to pick up the damaged one - no questions, no hassles, nothing but courtesy and friendliness. To help you get a mental picture, when I place all four place mats on the table, (standard size place mats,) they slightly overlap. Looks nice, shoddy construction By Johnson The cabinet and wood finish looks nice, and as advertised the piece is made out of real wood. Once I had the thing built, I was pretty happy with it, but I found the building experience to be pretty disappointing. The pieces showed up in a flat pack box Ikea style, but I have to say that the assembly didn't proceed as smoothly as what I'm used to. The construction is mostly wood pegs and wood screws, and the thing showed up short two pegs. I had the general impression as I unpacked the box that little care went into making sure everything needed was in there. The two sheets from the assembly instructions were on opposite ends of the box, which was a minor annoyance. Finally, one of the shelves showed up with the paneling lifted, necessitating quite a bit of glue to fix. At the end of the day, I like the furniture.... but I was pretty irritated with it while I was putting it together. 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Worst piece of furniture I've ever owned By NB Read my whole review before buying--buyer beware I bought this, spent an hour assembling. Upon final glance, edges did not meet, corners did not touch, and I could see light beaming through the edges. So I started back at square one. I told myself hey--don't get worked up, you just didn't tighten this or that or didn't do something right. Oh no--a bit later, assembled again, it was in fact, not a 'square' piece of furniture as in edges don't meet properly or align and I'm pissed. I can't even begin to express how frustrating it is to spend almost two hours with the POS tv stand only for it to be such shoddy construction. Then I told myself I'd never buy Winsome again. But wait--I had forgotten I bought a Winsome night stand, which when assembled cracked within a week. Also, lets not forget the bookcase I bought, also in the Espresso color, which doesn't match this 'Espresso' color at all. I thought about disassembling it and shipping the crap back to Amazon, but that would be a ton of work, and then I'd likely get shipped back out another 'made in thailand' piece of crap. I have to say, I'm not a frequent review writer, but how terrible this product is urged me to get online right away and let others know so they dont make the same mistake. Easy to assemble if you remember that the legs on the flat side are a right and a left and get them in the right place. Great quality for the price By Shriba I paid a bit over $100 with shipping, and I find the quality to be really good and sturdy for the price. I didn't have any assembly issues, it took about five minutes to put together. It's perfect for a small space, especially because of the shape, and there were no flaws. And, it's all wood. By Janelle After looking for a year and a half for a coffee table, we finally found exactly what we were looking for. This was very easy to put together, well packaged and fits in our room perfectly. Nice looking, not sure how stable By thefishie I was extremely pleased at how quickly this item arrived given the other review. The dark wood is quite attractive and makes it look much more expensive than it is. The product comes fully assembled which is handy. My only negative is that the base of the tray is much thinner than I expected--really just a piece of plywood surrounded by a thicker frame. Thus, while I don't feel too nervous using it as a breakfast tray or in-bed work station, I'm careful not too carry it around too heavily loaded. Nonetheless, the price was great for a nice-looking, functional piece. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Functional, made cheaply, yet expensive By Health For Life It is perfectly functional and should handle heavy plates, but I wouldn't recommend more than 2 lbs (0.9 kg). Overall, it feels cheap and the wood is very thin. The legs fold underneath the tray, but they had no locking mechanism and so it was not made to be transported or stored in any other orientation as the legs would too easily fall out. I paid $23 + shipping, but I would rate it to be worth $15. I ended up shopping around again and decided to pay more for an Acacia Tray Square from a local home/kitchen store - and it was well worth it even though it's not meant as a raised bed tray. Great Addition to Any Room By Stina808 We got this product to keep on top of our huge ottoman as it was taking up to much space to keep a coffee table in the center of our living space. With this on top of the ottoman, the ottoman became our coffee table. And, it's easily removed to turn the ottoman into a foot rest. It's a great addition to the room. Poor Quality Control By Patrick Steele The overall design of this furniture is great -- and when assembled it is sturdy and stable. However, the quality of the finish is very poor. While some pieces, including the lower shelf, have a good finish, the top piece of the table had significant imperfections (ok, really obvious knot holes and flaws) that were poorly patched and stained. Furthermore, the final finish coat on the tabletop was quite poor -- with areas of rough, poorly sanded edges and flat gaps of missed lacquer. The overall size and shape of the piece is great, the stability is fine, but unless you are putting it into a dark hallway with no direct light on it, the poor finish quality may be a real problem for you. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Additionally, I could not get the table legs adjusted to eliminate a minor wobble which I finally solved by placing a small piece of stick-on felt under one of the short legs. It was easy to assemble if you've assembled other furniture before (logical, and the instructions have words on them unlike Ikea!). The company (MMP LLC) had great customer service and was fast to respond to a question that I had. The table feels relatively sturdy - the top feels solid, not like particle board. The legs stay on well and don't wobble. I have a small, odd-shaped living room so this table fits well. It's only 30 inches in diameter , so it would be too small for a large room. Just big enough for 3 or 4 people to set their drink and a plate of snacks.z Shipping was FAST and the item was packed well for such a small box.
