I was bigger than the other ones being offered, and a deeper brown color. It was double packed so it arrived in perfect condition. It was simple to assemble. Voss This is a large piece of furniture which should have been carefully packaged before shipping. Unfortunately it was not. The legs are a complete puzzle which need to be resolved before one can attach them to the table top. The veneer (and it is definitely a thin veneer) is almost non-existent. So thin--and very easily scratched by the slightest touch like a fingernail when placing magazines atop? The only reason I gave this one star is for the color. This was and is beautiful. It's finish scratches extremely easy and it's very light in weight, tips over, just not worth the money. It's more like a $9.99 item at Walmart. I bought this because it was $50 expecting nice quality. Complete junk. Used for a week and put in basement, 2 for $100. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Just what I needed By SV I was looking for a small table to put my tea or whatever on while sitting in my reading chair. I also use it for my use anywhere mouse. This table fits the bill. The top is a tad under 15" long and just under 11" wide. The Magazine holder you see in the picture inside dimensions are 2 1/2" deep and 6" wide. It holds a steno notepad with some space to the sides as well as most paperback books. You cannot see in the picture but it has a support arms under the top on both the left and right about 1 1/2" in from the outer side edge. From the base of that to the bottom of the foot 21 3/4". It does not go over the arm of my chair because of these but I don't need it to. With the arms inset I can pull it in as far as I need it to for my mouse. We didn't realize about the arms but I can use it in a number of ways that work for me. The picture color is accurate for this piece. The stain is evenly applied and it looks nice. The surfaces are all smooth and I have not had a problem with scratching. It does get used a lot so if it was going to be damaged or tip over it would have. It's sturdy so I don't even worry about it tipping even loading it lopsidedly. It doesn't move around as easily as a Table Mate but its not supposed to. We can move it easily with some resistance which is what you want. I don't want to move around if I bump it while on the couch. The package it came in had a dent so I was concerned but the table was well protected. You do assemble it yourself. I found the instructions easy to follow and it was quick to assemble. I used a powered screwdriver of my husbands. We tried it in the living room after we removed the coffee table for more room. Our concern was that the base would be to thick to go under our couch with is almost on the floor but its only ~1/2" so not a problem. We love it and are ordering a second in the same color. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. VERY SMALL TABLE By D. Bradford Don't make the mistake I did, reading a review that said this table is big enough for a lap top and cup of coffee. It is NOT. This table can be used for a small book and cup, but not much else. (The picture should have clued me in.) My 2 year old granddaughter likes using it, but I wouldn't put anything on it that could spill, because it can easily topple over. While it's still functional for small needs, it did not meet my expectations. The company was nice to deal with, and the delivery was prompt. It comes in kit form and requires careful study of the instructions before assembly which took about an hour with some help from another person. The resulting cart is handsome and sturdy. The black, full-size microwave countertop oven that I purchased to go on top fits so well that most people think that the two, cart and the microwave, were purchased together and made for each other. The drawer works but is a little hard to pull out even after greasing the wood rails that it rides on. I won't use the drawer that much anyway. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. It is well made and everything fits together nicely. There is a 5th leg under the middle of the lower shelf that does look a little odd depending on the angle you look at the table, but it doesn't bother me. The drawer slides nicely and the table comes with a touch up pencil for tiny scratches that blends perfectly with the wood color. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Terrible craftsmanship By crd First of all, if I had not got this table with an Amazon gift certificate, I would have been very upset about spending so much money and not being able to return it as the return price is almost as much as the table (since it is heavy and shipping is costly). When it came in the mail, the table already had scratches and marks on it. My fiancee tried to assemble it only to realize the cam screws were stripped and he had to go to home depot to get new ones. He still was unable to get the legs to lock into place with the new screws. So, we had to resort to gorilla glue in the holes to get the legs to stay in place for the bottom shelf of the table. All the other pieces assembled ok. But, since it really is not assembled properly, I am afraid to put too much weight on it. It is ashame to spend money on a table you cannot fully use. Do not waste your money on this product!!! I saw another review that reported cam screws did not lock properly. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Unfortunately the pieces they included for fastening the legs to the rest of the table simply wouldn't go together on some of the legs. I read this in other reviews as well and probably should have listened. I figured it would only be a problem in a small number of products. I ended up breaking some of the metal parts trying to get them to work. The table is together, but it is not the most stable thing in the world. I'll probably secure it further with some metal brackets and screws at some point, which will work fine, but this company should not be selling the table in this condition. Great furniture for a new apartment By William Masten I recently moved out and I had nothing, and being frugal was the key. I tried to find things that looked nice and werent too expensive. I found it with this set. The tables look great and are sturdy. I thought they might be plywood when I ordered them, but they are not... I know because they were heavy as f*. The only problem I have is that I wish they had a little more to them. Opening that box with the 'new table' in it, we noticed the corner was damaged the same (as you can see from the photos). The wood just flakes off when you touch it. Super cheap. On a side note, the customer service representatives are VERY wonderful....however, they don't match a poorly crafted table. They overnighted the 2nd return and legs after my complaints. This table set is black. Some espressos are dark brown, but this is totally black. The end tables had no chipping issues, but you can tell they are also made of cheap wood. It is quite sturdy and the perfect size for my small apartment dining area. The vendor - Home and Living - is the most customer friendly company. Despite their excellent wrapping job, the tabletop arrived damaged. Home and Living immediately shipped a new one and arranged for FedEx to pick up the damaged one - no questions, no hassles, nothing but courtesy and friendliness. To help you get a mental picture, when I place all four place mats on the table, (standard size place mats,) they slightly overlap. The instructions were a little cheap, and one small washer was missing, and the seats must be drilled on, NOT screwed on, but otherwise I rate it a 3. Looks nice, shoddy construction By Johnson The cabinet and wood finish looks nice, and as advertised the piece is made out of real wood. Once I had the thing built, I was pretty happy with it, but I found the building experience to be pretty disappointing. The pieces showed up in a flat pack box Ikea style, but I have to say that the assembly didn't proceed as smoothly as what I'm used to. The construction is mostly wood pegs and wood screws, and the thing showed up short two pegs. I had the general impression as I unpacked the box that little care went into making sure everything needed was in there. The two sheets from the assembly instructions were on opposite ends of the box, which was a minor annoyance. Finally, one of the shelves showed up with the paneling lifted, necessitating quite a bit of glue to fix. At the end of the day, I like the furniture.... but I was pretty irritated with it while I was putting it together. 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Worst piece of furniture I've ever owned By NB Read my whole review before buying--buyer beware I bought this, spent an hour assembling. Upon final glance, edges did not meet, corners did not touch, and I could see light beaming through the edges. So I started back at square one. I told myself hey--don't get worked up, you just didn't tighten this or that or didn't do something right. Oh no--a bit later, assembled again, it was in fact, not a 'square' piece of furniture as in edges don't meet properly or align and I'm pissed. I can't even begin to express how frustrating it is to spend almost two hours with the POS tv stand only for it to be such shoddy construction. Then I told myself I'd never buy Winsome again. But wait--I had forgotten I bought a Winsome night stand, which when assembled cracked within a week. Also, lets not forget the bookcase I bought, also in the Espresso color, which doesn't match this 'Espresso' color at all. I thought about disassembling it and shipping the crap back to Amazon, but that would be a ton of work, and then I'd likely get shipped back out another 'made in thailand' piece of crap. I have to say, I'm not a frequent review writer, but how terrible this product is urged me to get online right away and let others know so they dont make the same mistake.
